Last week we opened the doors on the Acid-Alkaline debate. What’s the fact, what’s the fiction? Well, now you’re going to find out the FACTS behind the aging process and whether acids are really to blame for ungraceful ageing.

The human body is slightly alkaline, and has a complex system that works to maintain that balance. You already know that your body uses calcium to keep acid at bay but it does more than that. You see, your lungs, kidneys, and pancreas all work together to maintain the critical acid/alkaline balance.

Unfortunately factors like overeating, acid-creating foods, the fast-pace of life, stress, exposure to pollutants, and a variety of other factors slow down that process. In effect your body’s ability to maintain a slightly alkaline balance in your cells and tissues diminishes. By then, your whole body starts to wear out and break down, which is also called “the aging process.”

Now we know that ageing can’t be permanently reversed or stopped just yet. But if acid speeds up the ageing process then perhaps removing acid waste from the blood and tissues could help us stay younger longer.

Alkaline water (not ordinary water) has a pH between 9 and 11 and is great for removing harmful stored acid wastes from your system. But, more is needed...

That’s why you need to include liberal amounts of those foods that alkalise your body. Some of the foods that do that are:

  • Almonds
  • Asparagus
  • Basil
  • Celery
  • Sour Cherries
  • Chives
  • Carrot
  • Cauliflower
  • Green Beans
  • Lettuce
  • Potatoes
  • White cabbage
  • Zucchini

You need to ensure you include more of the alkalising foods above in your diet.
